
Nakia Bolden, MPH, CHES®, is an alumna of the Health Sciences program at Indiana University South Bend, where she teaches courses in epidemiology and biostatistics, global health and nutrition, cultural consciousness, ethics and professionalism, health promotion, and program planning and evaluation. Her teaching emphasizes applied learning, evidence-based practice, and preparing students to address complex public health and healthcare challenges.
Nakia has more than seven years of experience across public health, healthcare policy, academia, nonprofit leadership, and community-based practice. Her professional expertise includes health policy, population health, health equity, chronic disease prevention, health education, program implementation, workforce development, and community engagement. Her experience includes managing grant-funded public health initiatives, leading statewide partnerships, supporting vaccination and COVID-19 response efforts, and translating public health data and policy into actionable strategies.
She is also the founder and Executive Director of I Am Health Education®, a public health education and workforce development organization that provides professional training, continuing education, and applied resources for public health professionals. Nakia is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health at the University of Kentucky. She earned her Master of Public Health from Indiana State University and has been a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) since 2020.
