Rory Langton, MS.ED., R.T. (R) (CT) is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator in the Radiography and Medical Imaging program at IU South Bend. He teaches radiographic principles, radiographic positioning, clinical experience, and helps coordinate for the BSMIT program. Rory received a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic and Imaging Sciences from the University of Southern Indiana in 2012 and a Master of Science in Adult Education from Indiana University Bloomington in 2023. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he pursued a post-primary advanced imaging certification in computed tomography. Rory is a multi-modality technologist in both diagnostic and computed tomography and continues to practice at a local hospital.
Within the classroom, Rory teaches with empathy, authenticity, and comprehension. His teaching strategy involves teaching radiography students the core components of x-ray while also instilling sound ethical judgement to ensure excellent patient care in the clinical setting. With the help of the simulation center and new x-ray equipment on campus, students can connect classroom theory with real-world situations. Through a solid teaching framework and state of the art equipment, Rory keeps the student at the center of a cohesive pedagogical framework.
