Laurie Richards, "Dwyer School of Health Sciences" Office Manager for the Advising Center. Laurie started her career here at IU South Bend in 2005 as a Student Records Specialist and then was promoted to Advising Center Manager in 2015. Laurie was awarded the WOW Award October 2010. The WOW Award is presented to a bi-weekly nominated employee who exhibits dedication and outstanding performance at IU South Bend. She was also awarded The Chancellor's Employee Service Award in 2018. She has demonstrated excellence in overall work performance, promotes positive morale through a congenial, supportive attitude and by providing service to others, puts forth an effort to improve self as well as to develop and recognize others, and exhibits initiative and creativity resulting in improved operating efficiency of the department and/or University. Laurie is married to a career Mishawaka firefighter and the proud mother to 3 children and has 2 grandchildren. She is an avid crafter and a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
