ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The AS in Radiography Program is a 22-month, full-time clinical/professional program that provides the academic and clinical education required for a career as a diagnostic radiographer. The program consists of highly focused college coursework designed to complement clinical experience course work. Clinical experience courses are completed at various off campus locations within the regional community. Students attend class on-campus and clinical practicum courses at affiliated clinical agencies throughout the region. Radiographers are employed in a variety of health care settings which include hospitals, clinics, urgent care centers and orthopedic offices to name a few. In clinical coursework students rotate through a variety of clinical areas within the hospital imaging departments. For more information, view the AS in Radiography Program Handbook.
The Radiography Program is accredited by the Joint Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (www.jrcert.org) and is designed to prepare graduates as competent, professional entry-level diagnostic radiographers for a career in medical imaging. Upon completion of the program, students receive an Associate of Science Degree and are eligible to take the national credentialing exam in Radiography which is sponsored by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additional information about the ARRT can be found at www.arrt.org.
