Dr. Mackenzie Shireman, DNP, RN, NP-C earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Valparaiso University in 2020. Dr. Shireman earned her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner concentration) from Ball State University in 2017 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University in 2014. She has experience in Critical Care Medicine as a bedside Registered Nurse (RN) and most recently Family Medicine as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Dr. Shireman is a certified alumnus Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Credentialing Board. As a Family Nurse Practitioner actively working in the primary care setting, she enjoys caring for a varied population and holds special interests in women’s health and pediatrics. Dr. Shireman is a preceptor at her practice and is committed to preparing nurse practitioner students to become excellent, evidence-based clinicians. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), where she serves as a peer reviewer, and the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana (CAPNI). Dr. Shireman is the proud wife of Nathan Shireman and mother to Millie. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, traveling and exploring new places, and listening to Podcasts/Audio books.
